I’m Angie Woodberry. I live in South Carolina with my husband, my black lab, and 3 college age kids who may or may not be at home, depending on what time of year it is. We have a busy house. I am a teacher turned business owner. I’m a busy girl.
When I was a Senior in college – yes a SENIOR – I decided I was going to be a school teacher. I actually was encouraged to teach by an English professor who told me, after a presentation I made for her class, that I was born to teach. I had no idea. I just knew I loved to read and write. I was an English major who had not taken the first education class, and I was thinking seriously about law school . Did I mention that I was a SENIOR? Luckily for me, however, I was able to go straight to graduate school, earn my M.Ed and get certified to teach at the same time.
I do believe I was born to teach. I graduated with an M.Ed in Secondary English Education and taught High School English for seven years. I loved my job. But I am restless, and I am driven, and sometimes I am profoundly moved by things that happen around me. I am an INTP: always thinking of ways to solve a problem, big or small, mine or someone else’s. I moved on from the classroom and have done a lot of things since I “grew up” and got a real job.
I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a wife, a mother, a business owner, and an advocate for whoever needs me or whatever moves me at the time. I’m a fighter and a fixer and I write so I don’t go crazy.
